At the end of June, the Dog Writers Association of America announced the commencement of its annual writing competition. Created to encourage quality writing about dogs in all aspects of companionship and sport, the DWAA competition is open to all writers, photographers, editors and publishers. Entries by both amateurs and professionals are welcomed and must be postmarked by September 1, 2010. Awards and cash prizes are given at the organization's annual banquet, held a day prior to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. To learn more about the competition, visit www.dwaa.org.
